The Pacific Northwest has long been sustained on the reliable cycles of it's most crucial species, the lifeblood of the coast, wild pacific salmon. Coho, Chum, Sockeye, Chinook and Pink provide sustenance for a complex web of life, nurturing ocean hunters and river fishers alike. In our modern era of convenience and excess, this delicate structure has been thrown out of balance. Salmon farming, habitat degradation, overfishing and climate change create turbulent waves which are felt throughout and entire ecosystem. SOS (Save our Salmon) recalls the vitality of salmon as a keystone to our coastal bionetwork. We are encouraged to demand the end of disruption to the life cycle and natural habitat of wild salmon, and to support sustainable fishing practices so that the pacific northwest thrives for generations to come.
